There's a building toward the inevitable, but it's not boring/predictable. It's more like a presentiment that has you saying, "No, no, no, no" under your breath with each new awful thing. Go to Full Review

And while fans of the genre will absolutely appreciate the surreal gloom, for most others Level 16 will come in at a level below an average Twilight Zone episode. Go to Full Review
Robert Abele Los Angeles Times 03/01/2019
But as it sputters toward its curtain-exposing conclusion, "Level 16" stays disappointingly thin, both as a dark-future cautionary saga and a genre exercise. Go to Full Review

The mostly feminist themes explored in Level 16 have been pretty well explored elsewhere, so there's not much new here. Go to Full Review

Mixing elements of social justice, horror and sci fi, Level 16 is a genre movie that delivers both intellectually and emotionally. Go to Full Review

Level 16 is about atmosphere rather than all-out scares, and it's much to the story's credit that we remain on the hook right up until the end. Go to Full Review

Kashgar A @AllFunAndGames 1d And this is how you make an excellent film on a small budget. Loved it from start to finish See more Keagan C @escapistsoup 2d Level 16 is an undoubtedly underappreciated & overlooked hidden gems that has so much potential but has gained barely any traction in recent years. The film is beautifully crafted in storytelling, scenery, and deeper meanings. The entire film's cinematography and blending of eerie/anticipating ambiance feels like an active crime scene, sort of like an edge-of-the-seat, having audiences beg the protagonists to make the right choices and the antagonists to not make the wrong choices. Yes, the film has tons of plot twists, but its built more as a putting-pieces-together climax development rather than random/abrupt changes to the storyline- proving the whole organization and "boarding school" format is undeniably evil and wrong. The film has well-crafted subtle undertones of displaying active trafficking rings, violence against women and young girls around the world, and the dangers of beauty standards rather that just a "spooky" plot. Wonderful film, hard-hitting and exciting all at once! See more Chloe A @Chloe7 Jan 20 Was a good film, worth a watch but I wouldn’t say it’s disturbing like people say See more dede w @RT37612585 Dec 4 loveeeddd this movie mannnn watched this back in 2021, wish. they can make a part 2 instead of ending it off of what happened to them after they escape See more Hayleigh P. @haytay.shows22 Jul 21 Haven’t seen it in awhile and forgot to rate. Was a pretty good movie. I watched most of it on tik tok tbh 😭 See more Robert M @RT53868205 02/28/2025 The reason why I like this movie is because of the girls and the way they get their freedom and the love that they have for the other girls in the kindness too. That’s why I think this movie deserves a second movie. See more Read all reviews
