It’s sad and funny, unexpected and beautifully observed. Go to Full Review

“Miss You, Love You” is a small film in scope, hence the bypassing of theaters for distribution on TV, but not in emotional payoff, as Diane and Jamie wrestle with a complex brew of resentment, recognition and, finally, forgiveness. Go to Full Review

A virtual two-hander, “Miss You, Love You” is a rare accomplishment -- just enough of a good thing. Go to Full Review

I adore this. Janney is sublime, and Rannells is rarely asked to be this honest in a film. Go to Full Review

Despite frequent glimmers of emotional resonance and Janney and Rannell’s engaging rapport, Rash’s overwriting and underdirection ultimately lead to a viewing experience that is more frustrating than moving. Go to Full Review

Laura D @LauraD33 6h The most amazing, witty, and sharp writing I've seen in a film in a long time. I was blown away by the banter and the twists and turns of the dialogue. This film is very dark and breathtaking at the same time. Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells are brilliant together. They feed off each other's performances with remarkable skill, creating characters that feel authentic, layered, and unforgettable. I have been carrying a great deal of grief after recently losing two sons, and this film touched me in ways I didn't expect. Thank you, Allison, for being such a tenacious and emotionally rich actress. And thank you, Andrew, for the stamina, vigor, and loyalty you brought to your character. You both delivered stunning performances. If you love intelligent dialogue, sharp writing, and actors who understand how to bring deeply personal nuances to their roles, see this film. I'm watching it again tonight. See more Deb S. @TallKSMom 1d I love both of these actors and they are at the top of their game in this movie. Different than what I expected but very emotional See more Veronica S @vsheehan 1d I started watching as I was filling time, expecting, hoping, to fall asleep. Unexpectedly, I ended up living a beautiful moment in time watching a movie filled with words and acting that will be with me forever. I will think of it when ever I procrastinate or avoid the next step. I will hear Jamie's final words of why he hasn't "walked through" & hear Diane say the right thing to help Jamie walk through the threshold hug Diane then turn to leave and truly walk through the doorway to loving himself as he. As he then moves on in his love life. May we all find the courage. See more 2muchtwowatch D @RT03729266 3d Allison Janney never disappoints. Such a good actor! Andrew Rannells, very good casting. Grieving widow, son’s personal assistant. I wouldn’t have identified this movie as a comedy-drama. I went in thinking it was a comedy but soon learned that no, this is a drama with life’s precious moments that make us smile, laugh, and sometimes pause and breathe from release. I would watch this again. The setting and quiet really added. See more Vincent S @Vin_E_At_The_Movies 3d Allison Janney gives an outstanding performance (award caliber) making this sometimes-talky drama soar. Andrew Rannelis is also great here in this emotional drama that might make you tear up. That is due to the towering performance from Janney. Allison Janney should get more Icon respect. See more Kate E @kateelfatah 4d I desperately wanted to love Miss You, Love You, but the execution didn't quite match its potential. The foundation is solid. A grieving widow and her son’s assistant navigating funeral planning and distinct coming-out experiences offers plenty of emotional weight. Alison Janney is great (as always), and there are genuinely touching moments. However, the film ultimately trips over its own script. This is a highly dialogue-heavy movie where the conversations never feel real; the characters give polished, message-driven speeches rather than sounding like actual people. Guarded characters suddenly spill their souls in a single day, which kills the realism. Between the overly manufactured dialogue, a lack of quiet moments, and familiar tropes, I was constantly held at arm's length. The story was there, but it just couldn't hold me into believing any of it. See more Read all reviews
