Director J.J. Abrams does a nice job making Cruise look heroic...without making it look like a fashion shoot -although, there are times when it's tough to tell- and he even has enough confidence to offer some quiet moments to push some emotional content.

This movie is a great continuation of Ethan Hunt's story in a way that's new and exciting. Firstly, Tom Cruise is still awesome in this movie. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is probably the best villain in this series so far. The plot is a definite upgrade from what Mission: Impossible 2 had to offer. Not as complex or convoluted as the first, but more involved and tense than number two. But what we really come to these movies for is the action sequences. I'm pleased to say that this movie does not disappoint as far as action goes. There was definitely more gun violence in this one which can be seen as a positive or a negative depending on your beliefs, but I rather enjoyed those scenes. I do believe that the action is a slight downgrade from the second movie, but that's not to say the action in this movie is bad, it just means that in my opinion the hand-to-hand combat was so good at the end of the second movie that it outweighs most of the action in this movie. Overall, definitely worth it.

Es increíble cómo "Misión Imposible" se puede seguir renovando. En esta ocasión, con J.J. Abrams en la dirección, la película usa como excusa una historia de espías para regalarnos algunas de las mejores escenas de acción que se han visto —referenciadas en cientos de películas posteriores—, resaltando especialmente la espectacular secuencia del puente y la de Shanghái. Ethan Hunt es el héroe de acción por excelencia. Gracias a un Tom Cruise que en esta tercera entrega expone el lado más vulnerable del personaje, logra volver icónico no solo al protagonista, sino a todo el equipo que lo rodea. Aunque está lejos de lo refinado del conflicto y los visuales que Brian De Palma creó en la primera entrega, esta cinta pulió y llevó a otro nivel la energía que John Woo plasmó en la anterior. Tal vez, si tuviera que recriminarle algo, es lo enredado del conflicto mismo; al menos yo tuve que verla una segunda ocasión para entender todos los hilos narrativos.
