Critics Consensus

Gargantuan in action, runtime, and scope, The Final Reckoning is a sentimental sendoff for Ethan Hunt that accomplishes its mission with a characteristic flair for the impossible.

Don’t blink during the talky setups. The next bangar stunt will be up soon to knock you for a tornado of loops. And doing it himself is the default mode for Cruise, a physical phenom who uses every muscle in his body (no A.I. for him) to astonish us.

The film entertains, moves, keeps its hero on the right path, and has at least one memorable sequence that gives you goosebumps because it looks so realistic. [Full review in Spanish]

Predictably, this new movie is overblown, inanely plotted, clotted with expository dialogue and boundlessly self-congratulatory. But, you know, it's also fun to watch.

Putting the overwrought plot aside—because honestly, what did you expect? — this is a classic, entertaining action flick that brings us some of Cruise's best stunt-work (even if it's not his best acting performance).

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning might not be the best of the series by a long shot, but it goes out mostly strong.

Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning pulls off a peculiar miracle by rising above its many — and not insignificant — problems, ultimately sending you out of the theater with an overall sense of satisfaction.

A great ending (potentially) to an legacy iconic series...great action sequences. Cruise remains in top form as does the cast...Film was maybe 30 minutes longer than it had to be...Not the best installment...MI2 remains the worst...Worth a watch

This was garbage to me. It felt like they just thought of a bunch of crazy stunts and try t wrap a story around it and send it out. That airplane scene was far too long and exhaustive. It’s a shame because the first movie before this seemed like it had a little something worth watching. This second movie was definitely not worthy of how mission impossible movie should end the franchise!

Movie was to long and felt like more all fancy stunts Tom Cruise doing himself and way to predictable
