Tom May 15 This is a surprisingly good film , I found it emotional and humerus capturing something magical which most similar films miss . The sound track is also good and found it excellent for helping me in a depressed period in my life . Some films just hit the spot and this certainly did that , I even shed a few tears . I enjoyed the laughs and the style of comedy, like with the robots (ie Gary) in a futuristic world. The story was well written enough and the overall concepts with Mars and Earth were believable, and the space ship journey had some beautiful scenes. The 2 main actors made a great combo and the stark contrast between their personalities was both entertaining and endearing. There were some great moments between these two that I thoroughly enjoyed - like the nervous dancing. It's not all gold of course, but there is some simple, yet great ideas and comedy through out that kept me invested and entertained. See more Cannon G @GucciElite 05/16/2023 Movie was fine. See more BallisticzsGaming 12/05/2022 Moonshot is a sci-fi rom-com with an interesting concept which does somewhat work but does fall flat for the most part. I think the thing that really carried this movie to be enjoyable were the characters played by Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor. Cole's character of Walt is charming, idiotic, and is just average while Lana's Sophie is this smart, intelligent person. I thought these two actors and their chemistry was the best part but the concept of a guy wanting nothing more but to go to space to reunite with the girl of his dreams is like any teen rom com but with a sci-fi twist. It's a story we've hear many times but with space, rocket ships, and mars. Within the movie, they even throw in social media references that just seem a bit cheesy and do not work. With all that's said, even though this story is one that's been told many times. It still finds ways to work where others seem to fail which I will applaud. This just seems like another movie that sounded good on paper but wasn't thought about during the execution. Overall, Moonshot is a mediocre love story with great chemistry and an interesting concept that works but the overall story is one that is reused once again. Moonshot gets a C+.
