DOps 17h This was an odd movie -- some interpersonal soap opera, some existential quandary, and some spiritual interjections. Kind of hard to figure out. I felt like I was in an art exhibition and, although felt ok to keep looking, never quite understood what the artist was trying to convey. This was stylish and well-acted. It was never clear whether Maia and Mary were lovers or should have been. The ending was also kind of ambiguous -- like you turned a corner at that art show expecting some resolution and suddenly realized that you had gone through an exit with no way back in. The dialogue and the nuances are what make it cohesive. The concert footage is worth sitting in your seat. Anne Hathaway is a relevant figure here. This film is amazing. If you can sit through an art film. So fat, the best art film Ive seen in years. See more ugh 2d um so like what?! i thought “okay this is just slow burn” but it literally never picked up. the plot was lost from the moment it started. the directors were so focused on this eerie performative thing... there was no climax. i’m so annoyed that i sat through that whole thing waiting for it to pick up. peace love hunter schafer tho.
