Much of the film is very Franz Kafka and the environment has a life of it's own this is wonderful to get caught up in. Beautifully shot each scene thoughtful. Mister K is whimsical and quirky which brings added magic. However the end did fall apart a bit. The script is ambitious but uneven, leaving emotional threads unresolved. Still, when everything aligns —the visual composition, the soundscape, and the performance —the result is mesmerizing. Mr. K may not achieve perfect balance, but its sensory richness and atmosphere linger long after it ends. There is not truly any plot line and watching it was somewhat akin to reading the center of a book, having no context of a beginning and no satisfaction of an ending. Crispin Glover was by far the worst highlight of this film; his emotions were displayed at a depth of a teaspoon with little reaction to his surrounding except where violently prompted by his odd supporting characters. Even the brief sexual encounter with the chef's daughter provided no passion nor even the consulation prize of disgust. A disappointment all around. See more S.
