Based on the international bestseller by Robert Harris. It is Autumn 1938 and Europe stands on the brink of war. Adolf Hitler is preparing to invade Czechoslovakia and Neville Chamberlain's government desperately seeks a peaceful solution. Munich: The Edge of War, had me sweating at times and panicked for some characters, which is totally expected in an international espionage movie. I was fully invested in the relationship of its characters and their changing perspectives on the world around them. I was haunted by the three young characters we meet at the start of the movie and what the future held for all three of them but also Neville Chamberlain in the movie and in real life and what his effect on world war II really was.

It feels like a Merchant Ivory production. It's a good broad ranging imaging, but this is difficult when the macro facts of the time are so well known. For that reason I'm unsure how I feel about the story. The acting is, being Merchant Ivory, first class.
