Orient Express is strictly an actors' showcase, and some of the performers have such assured technique that you begin to grin each time you see them.

The idea is that everything will be more interesting if Sean Connery or Ingrid Bergman, rather than the characters they play, is suspected of having committed the foul deed. The device does not work, despite the [actors'] occasionally droll efforts.

Great winter watch for mystery fans. All-Star cast is outstanding, led by an unrecognisable Albert Finney in one of his best performances.
