Caleb C Nov 30 This deserves more good reviews from the audience here. I didn't know about this film until a couple days ago here when I was on Prime. I was pleasantly surprised by it, and it kept me engaged all the way through. The chemistry between our leads works on every level as well, so if you're into rom-coms, this one is for you. It's also not entirely traditional in that sense either. There is something here for both parties to enjoy and even if you aren't a rom-com fan usually, I think there is something here to enjoy just as a sorta feel good film with some dark humor and even some relatable dramatic elements that don't feel out of place. Also, how did this get 100% from all the critics that have seen this but under 60% for audiences? Interesting, but I believe the critics got it right this time even though there is only 14 of them applied here. Definitely give this one a go if you get the chance. These two had great chemistry together with a satisfying ending. This movie is ideal for fans of talky indie romances. They're slow, ponderous, self-indulgent and artsy with really annoying piano or guitar scores. But every now and then a masterful one shows up. Night Owls is one of them. The director, Charles Hood is clearly a student of the classic "well made" films of the old masters. In this case, that old master is Billy Wilder and Night Owls is an updated tribute to one of Wilder's best ones, "The Apartment." Funny, poignant with absolutely terrific acting, this little indie is a definite must-see. See more Read all reviews
