In 1980, Ted Bundy was sentenced to death by electrocution. In the years that followed, he agreed to disclose the details of his crimes, but only to one man. During the early days of the agency's criminal profiling unit, FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier met with the incarcerated Ted Bundy in the hopes of understanding the psychology of the serial killer and providing closure for the victim's families. As Hagmaier delves into Bundy's dark and twisted mind, a strange and complicated relationship develops that neither man expected. Based on actual transcripts of interviews between FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier and the incarcerated Ted Bundy, No Man of God is nothing short of riveting.

Critics Consensus

No Man of God may not offer much in terms of an original take on this oft-told story, but excellent performances make it tough to turn away.

Both actors contribute knife-sharp timing and the kind of intensity needed to make this essentially two-man setup work.

It's subtle, and may not be enough for the growing group of critics and viewers that worry that the cinematic obsession with serial killers ends up lionizing them, but it makes Bundy what he always was: pathetic.

Interesting. It's not bloody, it's not gory... It's about this process that this profile went through.

It never feels like he's taken to task, but in a way Sealey is exploring the darker aspects of mankind, and the film, much like most people in his orbit, is seduced by Bundy's mannered, and often witty conversations.

Amber Sealey’s No Man of God examines the final years of Bundy’s (Luke Kirby) life in a psychological thriller that looks to answer the question of Why? rather than the glorification of his murders.

No Man of God argues that serial killers...are regular people who do terrible things, and we must reckon with both their humanity and the troubling knowledge that they aren’t as different from the people around us as we would like to believe.

8/10 Elijah wood is the FBI profiler to interview Ted Bundy. The bill character from MindHunter. Very good drama, Ted Bundy actor is good.

Not really adding anything to the considerable cinematic mythos of Ted Bundy, but still entertaining enough to keep you engaged the whole time, No Man Of God approaches him, from the psychological side, analysing the mind of the man more than his actual deeds. Luke Kirby gives a great performance as the charming but secretive killer, often speaking from behind his hands and with a noticeable head tilt. Its doesn’t say a tonne about criminal profilers, but it does demonstrate how valuable one psychotic mind is when it comes to understanding another. Not a huge recommend, but if you have any interest in Bundy or serial killers in general, it’s worth a watch.

Luke Kirby is Ted Bundy. The mannerisms, the look, the knife edge temperament. The acting is spot on brilliant.

Questionable focus if it doesn’t transcend another mere portrayal of the subject, but nonetheless gradually chills in a grip so empathetically directed and deeply embodied that turns the case into an observative study based upon the authentic materials. Kirby searches for a soul within his schematic performance, while Wood naturally performed with cautious wonder and urgency. (B)

Well acted and a less sensational take on the Bundy murders. Similar to the Mindhunter series in that most of the film takes place in an interview room. Kirby's portrayal of Bundy is probably the best so far.
