A packed bus is heading towards downtown Belo Horizonte on a sunny morning. As it crosses the viaduct, the vehicle suddenly swerves, veers off the road and plunges into the avenue below. One passenger is seriously injured, while everyone else -- including Wesley, the driver -- is killed. The tragedy dominates television news and newspaper headlines across the country. Security cameras on the bus and on the road capture the moment of the accident, and after the footage is analyzed, speculation begins to spread that the driver may have acted deliberately. Vicentina, a 75-year-old retired teacher and Wesley's mother, is devastated by the tragedy and unable to see a way forward. She decides to seek out the victims' families and apologize. The road ahead proves difficult, and the answers Vicentina is so desperately seeking are not always the ones she finds.
