Robert G @regertz Oct 8, 2026 I think Passengers will end up a classic. Some of the reviewers dismissing it as a "stalker" film or "egodriven" are completely wrong in my opinion. This is a first sci-fi movie about a terrible moral decision by a good person trapped in a hideous situation. I note no one expresses concern about either CP's or JL's Aurora immediately wishing to awaken members of the crew, trapping them as well 90 years too early. But hey, they're just the help, right? The starship and the visuals in space are stunning and realistically done. What makes the film outstanding is CP's approach to Jim. He is neither a hero nor a villain simply a man trying to keep his sanity. His decision to awaken a passenger is terribly wrong but one cannot help but sympathize...As LF's Gus tells JL's Aurora, "A drowning man will always try to take someone down with him." Jim is a person driven to near suicide by his loneliness and is sincerely horrified by the action he takes. JL's Aurora's horror also fits well. See more

David B @RT00379423 Sep 20, 2026 I can’t complain about the acting and the beautiful cgi of the movie but sadly the main plot was very egocentric the story made this movie to be average not the actors I don’t know if the full idea was to create concept for a future movie but it really shows how a person can destroy other peoples lives for he’s ego am talking about what the script was trying to accomplish See more

Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 15, 2026 I was sad to hear that J-Law regretted the movie. It made double the budget, which I gather amounts to breaking even! It didn't lose money, at least. Anyone who grew up on Red Dwarf will recognise the set-up. Chris Pratt's character finds himself alone on a spaceship, in danger of dying from sheer loneliness. A malfunction has caused his sleeping pod to open several decades ahead of time. Everyone else is in a coma. He makes the fateful decision - fateful for everyone, as it turns out - to sabotage another pod in order to have someone to talk to; to have a companion. This brings J-Law into it. Alone together, they make the best of things. The ship has plenty of diversions, despite being a sleep voyage. Eventually she discovers the truth, that he deliberately robbed her of her future on the planet they were headed to. But by then we've learned how frivolous was her intention, how much pain she caused others by choosing to leave Earth. Fate or fortune? What rules our destiny? See more

James A @ablett001 Sep 15, 2026 The film is undeniably visually stunning and the very real feel of isolation that is created in an almost Kubrick style is commendable for a modern day movie. Pratt and Lawrence carry the story exceptionally between them and although it slightly falls off at times in keeping you enthralled, it's a splendidly good watch. See more
