Eric L @Eric_94 5d Starting off like a fairly standard "cultsploitation" film, we meet Sergio who seems to have strayed into a sinister cult (suspiciously populated by attractive women and creepy-looking men) and undergoes an initiation ritual that involves being thrown into a pool on your 18th birthday, and then sleeping with one of the cult beauties, at the command of the leader. The beauty in Sergio's case is Iris, aka Camille, Aka Pepa... whose life in this dire cult we see. Cut to soap-opera style uneasy staring into the distance. The plot seems to stand or fall based on whether you buy into the song "Planeta 5000" by a band called Video being an all-time classic with profound lyrics, or a Eurodisco song you've never heard of. The characters study the sleeve of the record and muse over its lyrics, but the record wasn't even released outside Spain. There's a sub-plot with a classic "bad boy" biker who is a drug addict... but I felt I was being exploited and baffled in equal measure. Strange. See more Read all reviews
