Ed H @RT40662899 Apr 25 This is straight to streaming slop. Story is bad, dialogue is bad, cinematography is bad, and casting is bad. This just seems like a cheap Guy Richie knock-off. There are bad movies recently made of higher quality that still somehow beat this movie. The only saving grace is that this movie is somewhat entertaining. I would not go out of my way to see this movie unless you're sick or laid-off. Mark Wahlberg is like Kevin Hart, anything for that paycheck. Wrong lead. Pass. I love the plot and thought it was both funny and entertaining. Its not incredible but I rank favorites based on how replayable they are more than enjoyable. Wahlberg, a new player on the Richard Stark/Westlake landscape has not brought anything new to the character of Parker. Wahlberg could've phoned his performance in. It's his usual, canned, tough-guy performance - at least read the FIRST novel(The Hunter) in the series to get an understanding of one of the greatest, cross-continental, robbery crew bosses in all of noir crime fiction. Stratham, unfortunately disqualified himself with his accent, Parker is an American. Wahlberg doesn't dig deep enough and as far as the action requirements of this film he's perfect, but he's no Gibson when revealing facets of the thief's nature that hint at his capacity for real love. Just very very stupid. Writing, plot, acting, all stupid. Multiple people get shot 5+ times and come back from the dead to shoot someone else before finally dying for real. Mark Cuban gives the most believable performance in the entire movie if that tells you anything. But if you don't mind that then you may be able to tolerate this.
