The opening of the film is beautifully done with many visuals of the town in which it is set. Ada Pasternak, as Valentina, was fascinating to watch as her thoughts played across her face. Towards the end, the canvas is shown that Valentina paints throughout the film. It is a stunning work. "Plight" illustrates that good drama comes from understandable characters and well-laid conflicts, not pyrotechnics or celebrity names. Actors Matthew J. Plumb and Ada Pasternak bring modulated tenderness and emotion to their roles. Ultimately, our heroes find themselves up against a sinister foe with a much darker heart than theirs. The ending took me by surprise. Writer-Director M.J. Alhabeeb Jr. navigates this drama with insight and sensitivity. Art direction and production value are solid throughout. Well worth watching! See more Binary S @RT38997053 Feb 23 "Plight" does it's utmost to add a few welcome wrinkles to the revenge genre. Joe (the dad), well played by Matthew J. Plumb loves his son and is astounded to learn he's getting married, and will also soon be a grandfather, making the next moments all too tragic, as his son's life is ended in a car accident. Not only that, but also his unborn grandchild. His future daughter-in-law Veronica (Grace Kohler), was crippled and in dire need of surgical expertise. Soon, Joe finds an accomplice in his raison d'etre, Ada Pasternak (Valentina) Veronica' sister, desperately wants to help, but those hospital bills are going to be impossible. An unlikely partnership emerges: Joe with his revenge; Valentina getting the funds needed for her sister's recovery. I found the ending a refreshing departure from other similar films, something I truly appreciated. Writer/Director M.J. Alhabeeb Jr. gets props for solid direction and production value, while also crafting surprises in a well-mined genre.
