Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) faces a parent's worst nightmare when his 6-year-old daughter, Anna, and her friend go missing. The only lead is an old motorhome that had been parked on their street. The head of the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal), arrests the driver (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces Loki to release his only suspect. Dover, knowing that his daughter's life is at stake, decides that he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

Hugh Jackman delivers a performance fueled by raw instinct, a father pushed beyond the limits of reason until survival becomes indistinguishable from obsession. Jake Gyllenhaal is his perfect counterweight, quietly assembling fragments while the world around him tears itself apart. Between them is a battle between impulse and patience, both equally haunted. The writing is brilliant because it refuses easy morality. It doesn't hand out heroes or villains in neat little packages. Instead, it forces every character to stand in the uncomfortable space between justice and vengeance, where the right answer is always buried beneath another impossible question. Every conversation carries weight. Every silence carries even more.
