Matt A @RT16394980 Jan 17 There's not much positive to say about this movie. It was slow and many of the story lines seem to have no purpose. For example It had a whole story line about the older woman being so mean and as soon as her manipulation comes to light she dies. It had no impact on the rest of the movie. And like others have said the ending took an awful twist. Maybe it is legal but still seems incestual. See more M G @justm 11/08/2024 It was doing well until about the last 15 minutes, when it took an odd turn and veered into an Oedipus complex. I think I saw it was based on a 19th century French novel and maybe that was ok in that place at that time, but not in 20th century Whitewright, Texas. The townspeople and the son wouldn't after a week of gossiping decide to just be OK with it. It is super creepy and inappropriate for the foster son to marry his foster mother. See more 02/02/2019 This movie had true potential, a boy named Francis with a troubled past was finally able to be raised by a decent person. He grew up and got a job had a girl who loved him the movie killed off the mean people it would have been a fabulous ending to have the boy marry the ranchers daughter and save the farm, but No he broke the ranchers daughters heart and marrow the woman who raised him?!!! Honestly what sicko thought this was a good ending?! And like her son who was only about 10 years younger than Francis be okay with it, even happy about it! Gag, movie ruined. See more 10/06/2013 Genuinely nice movie, but the "soundtrack" piano music constantly in the background gave it the feel of a Lifetime movie.
