It’s not always easy to navigate the tonal landmines of a Colleen Hoover yarn. That Caswill, Monroe and Withers do so with aplomb and emotion proves what these films can be: deeply felt, transporting romances to be taken seriously.

Monroe and Withers have fantastic chemistry. We feel it immediately when they’re flirting with each other about coffee and caramel, and the constant push/pull between them due the circumstances makes for an intoxicating watch.

What are the levels of attractiveness required to be marketable as the lead in an interracial romance movie at peak racist global default settings? Academic studies need to be done. Withers is a hot ticket.

the movie was great it was a ride for sure too, the only reason it didn’t make it full stars because most over books say the same things which is also deceived in her movies as well. the colors and visual and songs were pretty good as well though. i definitely would recommend too

Great story of redemption and forgiveness, which is sound biblical teaching. Pre-marital sex is not, and the man in this situation should have taken the lead and protected the more vulnerable woman, until he was willing to commit to her in marriage. So it does not receive 5 stars for that reason.

This movie made me cry, which was expected after reading the book years ago. However, I wish they had kept a few plot points from the book in the film, like the ring, suicidal thoughts, and “Hi Scotty”. These moments added a deeper, more emotional impact, but overall, the movie still stood well on its own and remained bittersweet with reminders of him.
