The film has a sun drenched, appealing California-ness and Hunt has that perpetually sunny bright look that helps soften her character's hard edges; the sun and light seem to erase the Manhattan publishing executive persona and she relaxes.

The wonky narrative is definitely a problem - Hunt takes too long to get us to sympathize with the obsessed Jackie - but by then, we really want her to catch that wave.

I liked it. It was a little slow at first but the storyline begins to grab you and you the characters win you over.

The story line is B-movie, in spite of having the remarkable characteristic of highlighting a mature, successful career woman as the lead character. What absolutely shines are the characters. Hunt and Zayas bring their characters to life. Actually, all the characters felt real, even Thwaites as the son, although I felt his performance felt more like a performance. The bit parts of the children involved were exceptionally realistically done, as was an argument scene at the ex's house. A very funny small gem of a movie, excellent and satisfying served up on an otherwise boring evening.
