Living in New York City, Sarah (Jennifer Aniston) must make the cross-country trip back to her home state of California for the wedding of her younger sister (Mena Suvari). Once with her family, Sarah learns some interesting things from her grandmother (Shirley MacLaine), including the family's inspirational ties to the famous film "The Graduate." Critics Consensus

This riff on The Graduate has a solid cast, but is too lightweight to fully register.

And, as Jeff rather drolly notes, she manages to "make this sound like a police investigation", rather than a comedy...

The ending was cute, but overall, the concept of the movie is odd and creepy. I don't understand why somebody thought this would be a good movie script idea. The fact that the main character sleeps with a man whom she had just an hour ago thought was her father is so weird. It felt like incest, even though it technically wasn't. The actors were great, though. I don't recommend, there are better movies out there to watch.

I didn't like the ending, because I didn't think it was realistic...and yes...I know it's a movie.

Loaded with heavy hitters with a unique premise it should have been a home run. But in the end it's just about cheaters, cheating and good guys settling having forgiven them. The ending both predictable and immensely unsatisfying.

I don't understand why this only has a 21% user rating. I liked the film when I first saw it 25 years ago, and I loved it when I watched it again tonight. It was an interesting plot idea, it was funny, some great lines, everyone was on point, especially Jennifer Aniston and Shirley Maclaine, the direction by Rob Reiner was terrific. It's a really good film.
