Longtime hit man Jimmy Conlon (Liam Neeson), best friend of mob boss Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris), has seen better days. He's haunted both by the sins of his past and a police detective who's been breathing down his neck for 30 years and the only comfort Jimmy has is whiskey. However, when his estranged son (Joel Kinnaman) becomes a mob target, Jimmy figures that the only way to atone for his past mistakes is to make sure that his son doesn't wind up at the wrong end of a gun.

Critics Consensus

Liam Neeson is in typically fine form, but Run All Night suffers from a convoluted plot and workmanlike execution.

Every single one of the actors makes an excellent work. I like it a lot. See more Cooper D @RT50073208 Mar 27, 2025 Exactly what you would expect out of a Liam Neeson movie. Is it a little cliche, yeah. But you cant tell me that the action movies we are seeing Netflix or companies like Marvel put out these days have more depth in the plot and in the sideplots than this. Overall a good watch, definitely a a movie you would watch with your dad or while eating cookout with your boys. 9/10 See more Jeremiah J @RT86060099 Mar 27, 2025 It’s worth watching if you like revenge , last chance , gangster/action films and you’re not expecting to be suprised. In other words it is what it is. See more Calvin O @Caltus Mar 17, 2025 You have your ex mob hit-man who is sucked back into the life-cliché. You have your car chase, your bad guys who cant hit a target no matter how many times they fire. You have your corrupt cops and your hero who kills a few hundred people and then kills the boss that he used to work for. Nothing original to be found anywhere. Generic acting, generic dialogue, generic everything. See more Read all reviews
