RZA'S ONE SPOON OF CHOCOLATE follows Unique (Shameik Moore, "Dope" and voice of Miles Morales in the Spider-Verse films), a veteran and ex-convict seeking a fresh start in a small town. After an altercation with a gang of locals, he starts to suspect they may have something to do with the disappearance of young men in the area -- including his cousin. As he digs for the truth, he finds himself the target of not only the gang, but the local sheriff's office, whose involvement in the disappearances may be even more sinister. Instead of waiting for his turn to be picked off, Unique and those closest to him (Paris Jackson, RJ Cyler) decide to fight back in this sharply satirical and stylish action thriller from the visionary leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.

One Spoon of Chocolate looks hard at America’s racist past and present, but without the ingenuity or steely nerve of the Wu’s finest moments. Go to Full Review

So what if it could be a little shorter? The length of the journey makes RZA’s destination more meaningful. Go to Full Review

Thankfully, some climactic fight scenes, featuring strong action choreography and a clear overall presentation, give 'One Spoon of Chocolate' the great emotional release it needs after so much dramatic buildup. Go to Full Review

The dialogue tips toward the obvious, and RZA's attempts to expose racist horrors wind up drowning in the blood of cliched violence. Go to Full Review

I would suggest that RZA stick to coming up with the ideas, then partner with a co-writer and maybe even a co-director to hone his projects into something a little more coherent while maintaining the unique ideas he wants to bring to the screen. Go to Full Review

...this film is if Tarantino directed Rebel Ridge. That 2024 Emmy winner was more grounded and authentic, despite embracing action thriller aspects. However, RZA's film leans heavily on being an exaggerated, revenge fantasy. Go to Full Review

Mr Hollywood 11h Ends up being a dud. Starts out decent enough. Once it gets to the revenge it falls flat, doesn’t know how to end it. Ended up being pointless. The villains are just villains nothing more, they are boring. See more Scorpe 12h RZA never misses! This is definitely my movie of the year, and it breaks you down with so many emotions. I’m glad I went to go see it, and I can’t wait to get my physical copy! See more Demetric poole 13h The ending just made you want more See more Genesis 20h Worst movie I’ve seen in awhile. See more Willie M 1d Great story line of neglected truths.... The way it ended there has to be a part 2 See more Kenneth P 1d The acting made it hard for me to take this movie serious. I didn't know if it was supposed to be a comedy or a drama. This movies subject matter is heavy, and its based around real events, so I was trying really hard to follow along, but the storyline and characters decisions left alot to be desired.
