Jasper, a young filmmaker stuck as a production assistant, sees his chance to direct by proposing filming behind-the-scenes of a real séance in an old haunted house as research for their horror movie Death House. The site was once a children's shelter, shut down after five mysterious deaths in 1942. When the séance begins, the cast and crew are trapped inside and tormented by the spirits of the children--and something far worse.

If a horror film can be described as comfortable, that’s the word for "Scared To Death." It’s like an old tee-shirt that’s been through the wash. It fits, it’s fun, but it’s not for a special occasion.

...I never doubted that I wanted to watch it for Lin Shaye and Bill Moseley, who star. And I do adore Lin Shaye in this movie, where she plays a very different kind of character. It’s not enough to make it a good movie, but watch it for her.

There might be the makings of a guilty pleasure buried deep within this material, but unfortunately, that’s something Scared to Death is nowhere near capable of conjuring.

Scared to Death is made better because it is both meta and a milkshake of staple genre ingredients that, when you list them, you think, “These shouldn’t taste as good as they do,” but they do.

A mildly engaging, but often dull and uninspired horror comedy that's low on scares, wit, campiness and laughs.

This is one of those low budget "so bad it's good" type of movies. Only, it wasn't good. Not even worth watching for free, it's that bad

Damn. Not half as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Had fun although the creepy children gimmick and others were a little over-the-top.
