Sciberras’ direction keeps you in the picture, enabling you to keep track of the damage and effecting a rise in your pulse rate. We come to understand that the star, Radha Mitchell, is hiding out with her family in a remote area. The film opens, essentially, with that normality disrupted as Tim Roth's revenge plot unfolds. The story is replete with too much back story, and too much character development; however, those are really not the point of this film. This is an action film and, in that capacity, it does a good job keeping the audience engaged and entertained. There are elements of more. Roth does a great job of having almost no dialogue; yet, maintains a string screen presence. The cast is good. Annabel Wolfe is particularly good in this. See more ! The main character, a legendary ghost with 116 confirmed kills, handles a bolt-action rifle with the fluid grace of someone trying to untangle a vacuum cleaner cord. It’s a miracle "The Dragon" (Tim Roth, who clearly had a tax bill to pay) didn't just stand in the driveway and throw rocks at them. The fire and explosion effects were a joke, and the acting felt like it was locked in after a single take. Much of what happens in the movie is just dumb and completely illogical, and while I know movies can get away with plot holes here and there, the ones in this film were so glaringly stupid that I kept watching just to see how bad it could really get.
