Having rescued robot Johnny Five from being destroyed by the military in "Short Circuit," Indian scientist Ben Jahveri moves to New York City to become an American citizen. After struggling to sell a few toy replicas of Johnny, Ben must scramble to make more when Sandy Banatoni orders 1,000 for her department store. With Johnny's help, Ben begins making the gadgets, but his plans are endangered when thief Oscar Baldwin steals Johnny.

…stereotypes aside, it doesn’t have the same gravity as the first film, but it’s a brisk family entertainment, and engineers a beguilingly odd, off-kilter pathos as Johnny is bumped and bruised by city life before emerging victorious with a Tarzan yell…

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I prefer this one to the original. It has more laughs, heart (and heartbreak) than its predecessor. Some things haven’t aged well, but I’ve always found this film to be quite entertaining, despite its flaws.

Not as good as the first movie, but still has its moments. The ending is tough to watch, which is kind of silly...but shows you how attached you can get to anything with a personality.
