SIMAS C @simas_eros Oct 23, 2026 A disruptive force in the realm of independent, inclusive, and explicit erotic cinema. It is a comedy with a certain dramatic weight, following various intersecting stories set within a libertine club. Representing many dimensions of sexuality, it has become a cult classic—despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that it is an imperfect work in terms of both narrative and production. Above all, however, it is a film with heart and courage, offering plenty of material for debate and reflection. See more

EJofLA A @Erikmj Jul 1, 2026 I thought this was a mostly intriguing and sexy film. I gave it a nine out of ten for the first half hour, and then it drizzled down to a six by the end, and then back up to a 9 ending, for a final score of 7.75 for me. Lots of interesting sequences and conversations. Thanks producers! See more

Alain E @AlainE Jun 23, 2026 An anarchoerotic masterpiece that recalls the work of Dusan Makavejev. The plot really is not the main attraction here. Cinematography is very original and fascinating. Music also is very good. There is overt sexuality, so if you find offensive the sight of erect penises, stay away. On Cineverse. See more

Howie B @Howie10 Jun 7, 2026 Is it really 20 years old? It hasn’t aged a day, and remains a confronting relationship essay with a strong emphasis on the foundations of most of these, especially on the sexual level, whether we openly acknowledge this willingly or not. Without being tame and ‘prim & proper’ the film in a light-hearted fashion explores some very deep and in some cases disturbing attributes of relationships. Perhaps not for your maiden aunt Mary (or maybe she’d benefit from seeing it?), but certainly not gratuitous sex. Challenging for the actors, but a worthy cinematic experience for the filmgoer. Carlos I @carlosFibarra Jan 16, 2026 John Cameron Mitchell’s Shortbus is a remarkably raw dissection of various modern relationships, peeling back layers of sexual and emotional inhibition with a frankness rarely seen in cinema. While the film is occasionally hampered by bouts of wooden acting from its non-professional cast, the performances paradoxically contribute to an atmosphere that feels unfiltered and authentic. By navigating the intersections of love, loneliness, and art within its titular underground salon, the movie manages to be both explicit and deeply tender, proving that vulnerability is often found in the most unpolished moments. Courtney K @c0urtn3y Jun 3, 2024 for as much as this revolves around sex, I actually didn't think it came off as a sleazy exploitation in-the-name-of-art type film like I was sort of expecting. there's enough substance to it. that being said, was it great? also not really, lol. See more
