Having recently split from fiancé Sam Rawson (Steven Weber), Allison Jones (Bridget Fonda) welcomes new roommate Hedra Carlson (Jennifer Jason Leigh). The young women quickly form a bond, but as Allison starts to rethink her engagement, Hedra grows jealous and hostile. As Allison learns new details about her roommate's life, Hedra gets violent in her efforts to get Sam out of the picture. With Hedra turning more menacing by the minute, Allison finally understands what she's up against.

What Schroeder lacks in character development, he more than makes up for in mood and atmosphere, honing the creepy grandeur of the ominous, shadowy Manhattan apartment building with all the pinpoint perfection.

This was a very sexy movie, literally. There was a lot of nudity that shocked me given the fact this was Henry Fonda granddaughter. It was very immature, lacking real substance in the plot. All the killing was just dumb in way. An okay movie to see once. As that being said I give " Single White Female " a D.

الفلم جيد. الفيلم يعتمد على فكرة قوية نفسيًا، لكن معالجته سطحية مقارنة بعمق الفكرة نفسها. تنفيذه أبسط من اللي المفروض يكون. بالبداية يبني توتر حلو ويخليك تترقب، لكن بدل ما يغوص فعليًا بالجانب النفسي، يختصر الطريق ويمشي على تصعيد مباشر وسهل وهل شيء كان عكس المتوقع لكن حتى هذا التحول لم يكن سيء و لم يكن ممتاز كان مقبول. الإخراج سرد القصة بشكل جيد و كان يركز على خلق جو خنق وعزلة داخل الشقة، و عرف كيف يستغل المساحة الضيقة لصناعة توتر بصري مقبول. الأداء التمثيلي جيد، خصوصًا في تجسيد التحول النفسي التدريجي لإحدى الشخصيات، بينما بقية الشخصيات كان ادائهم عادي لم يستغلهم المخرج للاضافة عمق للاحداث او القصة حتى في نهاية الفلم احد الشخصيات كان له دور لكن مباشرةً حد المخرج من دوره ليجعل الصراع فقط بين الشخصيتين ‏الرئيسيتين فقط. التصوير كان جيد و الكامرة كانت حركتها سلسه و الاضائه و الالوان كان مناسبين لجو الفلم . الموسيقى مقبوله و تخدم احداث القصة. بختصار فلم بفكره جيدة لكن حواراتها عادية عرف المخرج كيف يخلق جو من التوتر يناسب اجواء الفلم لكن فشل في الحفاظ علية.

Vic Morow's daughter and Jane Fonda's niece duke it out for top billing in this well acted and satisfying if thoroughly unoriginal cat and mouse game thriller, about a young New York Software Designer who unwittingly brings a psychopath into her orbit, by hiring her as a roommate...This intense formula thriller is equal parts All About Eve, Persona and Fatal Attraction...(This was all part of the Roommate/girlfriend/babysitter/temp from hell trend of the 90s...). And they're doing it all in the Dakota from Rosemary's Baby, to top things off. Enjoyable enough.

Synopsis
