Sinners is a redemption movie, a revenge movie with elements of Blaxploitation, and certainly a red-blood-soaked horror movie; it’s also deeply romantic and has the rhythms and audaciousness of some of our boldest musicals.

One of the most unique and clever movies I have ever seen. The use of historical references intertwined with music and the ingenious idea of vampires - it was brilliant, poignant and made us think, smile, scream and cry. It was breathtaking and stunning to watch. Acting was beyond superb.

One of those exciting original films that comes out of nowhere and immediately enters the conversation of the best films of the 21st century. It’s up there with No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood. But it far exceeds the ambition, creativity, and biting social commentary of that other buzzy film of 2025 (One Battle After Another 🙄). Whereas PTA took a swing well beyond his depth, Coogler sits comfortably and firmly in his element. Arkapaw’s rich, sumptuous visuals (every shot is a feast for the eyes!) and Göransson’s toe-tapping vibrant score combined with Coogler’s masterful writing and directing and captivating, impressive central performances from Michael B. Jordan, Sinners is the most exciting film of the year. Everyone here is at the top of their game. And you’ll return to it sometimes as just a fun vampire horror flick, and other times as a rich social metaphor whose layers will continue to reveal themselves each viewing… BRAVO!!! 👏🏽
