Sound of Silence plays like a radio. Sometimes it’s smooth, and sometimes there’s static; regardless, you’ll want to tune in.

If nothing else, this movie is an effective demonstration of the directors’ ability to lull the audience into a relaxed state before knocking them around.

Shadows on the Wall

3.5/5

While the filmmaking is skilfully inventive, packed with touches that catch the eye and ear, the script feels perhaps underpowered, relying on scary-movie gimmicks rather than suspense or resonance.

The horror movie Sound of Silence over-relies on annoying sound effects as a distraction from the very limp and predictable story. Note to filmmakers: Repeating loud noises doesn’t automatically make a horror movie scary.

Sound of Silence doesn’t try to reinvent the horror wheel. It just wants to be reasonably creepy without being dated. In this, it succeeds.

If the story surrounding that atmospheric tension was better than a reductive exposition dump, this would be quite the gem. As is, it's merely a calling card showcasing obvious talent in need of substance.

Starts out interesting then runs out of steam. Plenty of atmosphere, The lead actress was quite good but the story and the scares were too one note and repetitive. Better writing would have helped. Watchable at best.

This movie has jump scares galore. If you want to get creeped out definitely watch it alone in the dark.

Although may appear at first a bit cheezy it actually has good scares a decent plot and ends leaving you interested in a new story instead of a radio like the main movie it ends with a painting. It reminds me of lights out. All in all I enjoyed d it along with those who watched it with me.

If you like jump scares this one provides good ones. Aside from that the acting is terrible, like really bad. Extremely low budget, all the characters make the poorest choices and its extremely predictable, and tends to drag. I would not recommend unless you love jump scares.

Nothing but annoying repatative noises, bad acting, and innefective jump scares. Also possibly the most annoying song ever made played way too many times.
