What to Know

Critics Consensus

Joe Keery's magnetic screen presence can't disguise Spree's shallow critique of social media culture -- although that lack of depth may be precisely the point.

Not as smart as it could be, but an entertaining ride. Go to Full Review

This is all very clever and it completely works, but it does require a certain amount of effort. Go to Full Review

Spree is a pointed indictment of social media obsession, but it is often as shallow as the influencers it criticizes. Still, Joe Keery makes this a film worth watching. Go to Full Review

Isabella P @RT32816570 1d Spree defeats the purpose of a movie since Kurt is a content creator, but I do think this is a good movie Joe Keery does a fabulous performance as Kurt Kunkle and if you’re maybe a child like 10-12 and you’re trying to get into horror films you should start with this one because it’s also funny See more Rat T @ToeLicker97 4d The people writing reviews on this movie aren’t dedicated to the film. They’re a bunch of old hobos who decided to watch it once. If you’re gonna watch a movie; at least watch it multiple times. As someone that at one point was watching this movie every single day (and is not an old person that wouldn’t even understand how the technology in this movie works) let me tell you what I truly think of this movie. Some may claim it’s too "simple" but the simplicity at first watch makes it familiar. It’s easy to watch. Also, after analyzing every second of this movie, I can tell you it’s not at simple as it seems at first glance. The smallest details are put into this movie. SPOILERS! At the end, it is revealed that the entire movie we just watched was a fan made video. This represents how something bad could be glorified online- like how Kurt murdering everyone was glorified and he had fans who turned it into a movie. This is only one detail of the many. Not to mention Joe Keery in this film! See more Tori A. @toriahr 6d Good cast, terrible movie. This may be one of the least real feeling found footage movies ive ever seen. Definitely disappointing. See more Christopher H. @ChristopherMontanaHaynes Mar 5 The Verdict A Killer Concept Buried by "The Message" Spree had the potential to be a standout modern horror-comedy, but it ultimately falls flat. The foundation is solid: a found-footage "B-movie" centered on a rideshare driver who starts murdering people cool idea. See more Cupcake T @thrillernight Feb 17 Iconic film that plays off of chronically online culture. An Elliot Rodger parody scene sets the tone very early in, followed up by a banger soundtrack. At some point Kurt kills a guy while blasting The Gummy Bear song. Need I say more? See more Jackson M @Jackson150 Feb 15 I love this movie. It was different scary and a great horror movie See more Read all reviews
