The plot itself isn’t extraordinary but the critters populating this forest wonderland are. Go to Full Review

It’s all rather predictable, but the world-building is distinctive and the animation is pleasingly lush. Go to Full Review

Unlike the greatest Pixar films that the director, Nathan Greno, and his three writers are trying to emulate, any sharper messaging gets quickly cast aside for a fairly rote buddy comedy quest narrative. Go to Full Review

Suitable for youngsters, with a strong environmental message, this should be a hit with kids, and Temple and Jordan have good chemistry. Sweet and gentle summer fun. Go to Full Review

This film though really just wants to get us to this idea of these starving animals and these magical pods transforming Ollie and Ivy, so that we get the comedy of errors that we see play out. Go to Full Review

Lester R. @RT65270270 6h Swap uses animation in a smart and innocent way to explore deep real life themes that both children and adults can understand or relate to. One of its strongest messages is that, despite different cultures, personalities, or beliefs, humanity always ends up needing each other during difficult moments. The movie shows that things work better when people cooperate and accept diversity instead of fearing it. Everyone has different strengths, and those differences can help others like pieces in a machine working together. The film also touches on family pressure and the idea that not being the “perfect child” does not mean your parents do not love you. Another important theme is how people’s actions are often shaped by experiences we do not fully understand. Some people may push others for personal benefit, but not every act of kindness is fake. Overall, Swap delivers emotional and intelligent messages about empathy, teamwork, acceptance, and human nature. See more Brian B @RT67323993 7h While it's nothing new or so called groundbreaking, the movie excels in what it aims to accomplish with astonishingly visuals, a simple to understand plot driven story and dynamic characters with their own unique individual personalities. Those who judge it harshly do not understand it's meant to be loved by a younger audience such as kids and teenagers. Overall it's a great movie to watch with friends and family and teaches a valuable lesson that can be applied to our own world. See more Claire M @RT08456385 8h Im so serious the one girl bird that turns into a pookoo is so annoying I had to turn off my TV. She genuinely made me so angry I had to reconnect with nature and attend church. I am gay and trans and went to catholic mass in my homophobic Appalachian town because this girl pissed me off so much the only thing that could calm my inner anger at her was God himself. See more Connor B. @BagelKing720 9h This movie will have a cult following. This movie is truly one of those movies that you can't tell what's going to happen next. You have an idea how it'll end but with the plot twist, it truly was amazing to watch. Unless, I'm just dumb, but hey. Credit to the film direction. Some of the absolute highlights are Tracey Morgan as the villain was pretty amazing. Even for a children's movie, he was a pretty intimidating antagonist. Very unexpected but happy with the choice. Also, Michael B. Jordan had great chemistry with Juno and made it even more enjoyable. Plus the world with all the plant life merging with animals really got me engrossed in the world and the worldbuilding with the lore was very well made. One of my gripes with Swapped is it's rough name. I think the movie is so good but definitely could use a better name. As silly as that sounds, it's sad with how great the movie is that in 5-10 years, I remember the movie but forget the name. All in all, an absolute banger of a movie. See more GlitSquk T @RT16556711 9h It’s fine, though I have some criticisms, before anything yes, I know this is a kids movie, and in kids movie everything ends happy, the things I liked are: The animation, SOME jokes (like 2?), character designs, and the fictional animals (which technically count as character designs but, eh) SPOILERS DOWN BELOW! And now, criticism! OLLIE. SHOULD'VE. DIED. Shocker! I know, but Ollie sacrificing himself to save the valley, and not knowing if he survived or died would’ve been a better ending, since not everything can end happy! Secondly, the Fire Wolf, seeing a bit of his backstory instead of him just shortly explanation it would've been interesting, since are there more Fire Wolves? How did the Dzo's decide to turn him into a Boogle? We could've had that See more Steve Z @StevieZ 12h This is how you do a perfect plot-twist See more Read all reviews
