"Tetris" tells the unbelievable story of how one of the world's most popular video games found its way to avid players around the globe. Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) discovers TETRIS in 1988, and then risks everything by traveling to the Soviet Union, where he joins forces with inventor Alexey Pazhitnov (Nikita Efremov) to bring the game to the masses. Based on a true story, "Tetris" is a Cold War-era thriller on steroids, with double-crossing villains, unlikely heroes and a nail-biting race to the finish.

Beyond entertaining and interesting storyline, placed in a no nonsense scenario during the fall of Soviet Union. Nice to see things as they were and how these forces played such a heavy hand upon such an innocent and relevant game.

Tetris powered by Egerton's emphasis takes a wild ride of creative liberties imaginable for a diary of a game salesman. An era where a whole world of joys existed out there to enjoy when everything we know was still taking place but the race for capital and greedy breathless sprints were the name of all games. Tetris is an unexpected surprising thriller with a heartwarming finish.

I went into this expecting a simple biopic about a puzzle game, but what I got was an incredibly fast-paced Cold War thriller. The way they edited the film to mirror the 8-bit aesthetic was superdope, making the legal battles feel just as intense as a high-level game of Tetris. Taron Egerton brings a ton of charisma to the role, and the synth-heavy soundtrack perfectly captures that 1980s retro vibe. It is a wild, high-stakes ride that proves the story behind the blocks is just as addictive as the game itself. Highly recommended for gamers and history buffs alike.
