chad D. @Chaddie Dec 29 Granted, the children are adorable and very smart, but 10 year olds pondering sexual lifestyles is outright disturbing. 2 stars for putting the film together well, some of the books on MLK and a couple others are questionable, but most are obviously political and progressive topics parents don’t want their kids exposed to. Hearing them explain why these banned books matter to them highlights how strange and harmful it is to remove stories that reflect real identities and histories. "The ABCS of Book Banning" was meaningful in depicting the kids' disappointment in being denied access to certain books. Their maturity in their explanations was very nice to watch. I enjoyed how students themselves were able to provide first hand accounts about the restrictions they've experienced. Not only that, but it made me hopeful for the future, as these children are confident that the banning of certain topics has been done so wrongfully. All of them talked so intelligently and had such good perspectives on book banning. The film felt very emotional and I had no clue this was happening so I know It brought awareness to me and so many others.
