Reuniting Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon on screen for the first time in twenty years, THE BEST YOU CAN is a sharp, touching, and laugh-out-loud exploration of change, losing our bearings, and finding connection in the most unexpected places. This character-driven comedy is a reminder that sometimes the people who understand us best are the ones who are nothing like us.

Real-life couple Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are pure magic on screen. Their skill, their powerful chemistry, and the modest intentions of "The Best You Can Do" elevate this small film into something special. Go to Full Review

It’s clear that the irrepressibly charming Sedgwick and Bacon love to share the screen, and it is an absolute joy to watch their effortless chemistry. I just wish it were in a better picture. Go to Full Review

The boomer afflictions that create the situations in “The Best You Can” -- physical, mental, financial, attitudinal -- are handled gently, though with enough weight to provide a foundation for the charm brought by Ms. Sedgwick and Mr. Bacon. Go to Full Review

it got a little contrived and muddled, but the star power of these two actors {Bacon & Sedgwick] made-up for some of the deficiencies Go to Full Review

Outside of a handful of overly frenzied moments of dialogue and/or acting, The Best You Can lands as a sincere, slightly offbeat take on aging and relationships. Go to Full Review

The chemistry between Bacon and Sedgwick is obviously electric, and the film engages with some very real issues. Mostly, though, it's a good hangout movie and a pleasant diversion. Go to Full Review

SaneReviewsbyDave B @SaneReviewsbyDave 8h I'm sick of Fake Reviews! There was no reason to make this movie. It wasn't funny and it wasn't interesting. There were numerous, irrelevant side-stories that added nothing to the movie except screen-time. I kinda-chuckle once, but the rest of the time, I sat waiting for any word, sentence, or scene that was remotely funny. Never happened. Perfectly flat and boring movie. See more Luis T @LuisTR Jan 25 Admittedly for the 40+ range, this movie is the warm, close-to-home kind of flick I needed to see right now. Sedgwick-Bacon duo sparks are tremendous. See more Katherine G. @KayGee Jan 24 I enjoyed this movie so much! It’s funny, moving, engaging, has great music, and most importantly — it’s so well written and acted. Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon bring such chemistry and intelligence to their indie film. They are clearly having fun. I’m so glad they made it and that I saw it. See more Tom W @twernigg Jan 17 Hmm. Anyone who doesn't like this film must have a stick up his or her ass. (crude and uncalled for, I know, but echoing the rhetoric of the haters out there). No, seriously, I laughed out loud (while on an airplane) many times, and just enjoyed it from start to finish. A little cringy (adult themes), I'll give you that. But otherwise it was a perfect movie. The banter was delightful and unpredictable, the pacing gorgeous, the ending sweet but not saccharine. If you enjoy a RomCom that won't put you to sleep, The Best You Can Get is the film for you! See more Sal D @JustTheLaw Jan 11 Despite the good performances, this movie is unwatchable....its attempts to be cute are condescending or trite or cliche. Also, I do not need to see text messages with the character's doing voice over in a movie. What is the deal with the ageism embedded through the first half of the film? See more Steven G. @DongLord69 Jan 5 Wow. Absolutely horrendous movie. Good themes, but beyond slow and boring. This was a lazzzzzzy movie. The ending was possibly the worst ending of any movie I have ever witnessed. See more Read all reviews
