Decades after an ill-fated robbery, a former member (Susan Sarandon) of the Weather Underground turns herself in to authorities. While covering the story, reporter Ben Shepard (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that recently widowed lawyer Jim Grant (Robert Redford) was also a member of that particular group. Grant slips by the FBI agents tracking him and goes on the run, hoping to track down his former lover, Mimi (Julie Christie), who's still underground and fighting for the cause.

Watched after Robert Redford's passing, given he both directed and acted in it. The concept was gripping, the cast strong, albeit the script was weak in places. Glad I saw it!

Initially, has the feel of an authentic docu-drama, but phony character names give it away as fiction. Redford, charming as ever, looks about 20 years older than character he plays, although he performs excellently as a widowed dad of a ten-year-old girl. By midway, the story begins to lack authenticity in the way the plot and actions evolve. Still, a pretty good piece of entertainment. Spoiler: I liked the hollywood ending!

Thought it was a great movie overall. I felt for the characters, felt the paranoia, the loyalty, acting was great, suspense was A-1. Shia played "Shia in every movie" as does Robert Redford it's just more fun to watch Redford. However, these factors wouldn't stop me from recommending, it's a fun movie that makes you FEEL something. Especially given todays climate.
