Five friends set out on one last adventure along Thailand's stunning coast, eager for a final thrill before life in the real world begins. They sign up for a guided swim through a remote cave system known as The Devil's Mouth, a natural wonder that's as breathtaking as it is unforgiving. Deep inside the labyrinth of narrow waterways, their journey takes a terrifying turn when they discover that a freak storm the week before flooded the caves with sea life. The creatures died in the fresh water, but something survived... and it's hunting them now--fast, silent, and deadly. Every corridor they round is overflowing with anxiety, and every wrong turn becomes a deadly encounter. As panic spreads and their sense of direction slips away, the group begins to fracture. Trust erodes, fear takes over, and survival becomes a savage game. In the suffocating darkness, every choice could be their last as they learn that to make it out alive, sacrifices must be made.

It’s the shark’s appearances, surprisingly, that lack bite. Denied a point of view or much in the way of a closeup, the CG killer never feels a particularly distinctive or palpable presence, while its lunges take on a fairly predictable pattern.

"Mouth" is that odd sort of movie that’s not bad enough for it to be fun, ridiculous but not enough to inspire a drinking game. No, it commits the cardinal sin of being lazy and boring. With an acrobatic shark at your disposal, that’s quite a feat.

I like a good, fun, stupid shark movie. Unfortunately, Prime Video’s The Devil’s Mouth is neither good, nor fun, nor even stupid enough to warrant the click. Some movies are fun-bad. This one is exhausting-bad.

The Devil’s Mouth is exactly the kind of film you’d expect from director Jeff Wadlow, an unapologetically pulpy creature feature that embraces its B-movie roots. The shark itself rarely behaves like an actual shark, the CGI is serviceable but noticeably inconsistent, and the characters seem determined to make one terrible decision after another. Yet despite all of its flaws, the film remains surprisingly entertaining because it fully commits to its outrageous premise. Essentially The Descent with a shark, The Devil’s Mouth delivers enough tension, creature chaos, and over-the-top thrills to make it an enjoyable watch for fans of schlocky survival horror.

It's not often that there is a shark movie where you're actually rooting for the shark. The human characters were just insufferable. A couple of sissy boys who let the girls be in charge. The girls don't have a brain cell amongst them. It actually looked good when the scuba diver who seemed to be the most sensible person was present. But then he got eaten. So, it was all downhill from there.

The Devil's Mouth (2026) It features beautiful scenery throughout the film, but the stupid and underdeveloped characters completely ruin the drama. The only positive aspect is the shark.

Granted, it's funnier than most comedies I've seen in the past 10 years. The first death scene had me chuckling, but there was one in particular ("I love you") that had me breathless from laughing. Unfortunately, the comedy just wasn't enough to make this a good movie and I felt dumber for every minute I sat watching.
