Set in a United States spiraling toward authoritarian collapse, The Exit State follows a group of Americans fleeing south toward Mexico. The group takes refuge in what they believe is a safe house in neutral political territory, but they quickly discover that the shelter is anything but safe--and that escape will come at a terrifying cost. Amongst the escapees is Zoey, a young journalist who carries sensitive footage of corrupt U.S. officials. Unsure of who she can trust, she arouses suspicions of the entire group including the wealthy hosts, brother and sister duo, Vince and Claire.

Saw it on apple tv. Pretty good film, fairly relevant to current events. If you enjoy horror and have a taste for political theater without an agenda being shoved down your throat and done tastefully, this is a watch.

Well worth the watch. World exists within the USA if trump gets his way for another two years or so. Then movie becomes a classic horror but the backdrop of American fascism is still lingering.  Ending is fun and twisted. 🤘🤘

Clearly a low budget indie but writing and acting are excellent. The cinematography occasionally feels like it was shot on film.

Could of been a good premise thought the background of the film sounded really interesting. The actual film was a turn your brain off and watch you could tell what was going to happen the whole way through. Not close to the worst film I have watched thou.
