Bilbo Baggins lives a simple life with his fellow hobbits in the Shire, until the wizard Gandalf arrives and convinces him to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim the kingdom of Erebor. A very solid and nostalgic return to the world of Middle-earth. The film shines brightly thanks to Martin Freeman's fantastic performance as Bilbo Baggins and the incredible chemistry of the entire cast. The riddle scene with Gollum is undoubtedly the most memorable moment of the entire film. Although the pacing suffers somewhat due to the long runtime and the decision to stretch the story out to create a new epic trilogy, Peter Jackson's direction continues to deliver an excellent atmosphere of fantasy, adventure, and action.

The best and most book accurate Hobbit movie. Martin Freeman shines as Bilbo. The CGI wasn’t great and I wasn’t a fan of the Orcs being made into a bigger threat but that’s really the only filler and was added. I would have wanted a modern Hobbit movie that isn’t a trilogy but the orcs are really the only made up crap in this movie but my point is that it’s mostly book accurate. Also they added Radagast the Brown. But it’s pretty solid, but the next two are just awful
