The movie shifts in subject and tone to focus on marital issues between Angelina and Vincenzo and then shifts abruptly into sentimental drama. Somehow by that point we still feel connected to the family and the conclusion is genuinely touching. Go to Full Review

What ends up being the most interesting part of the film is the casting of Estes. This is not a typical role for the actor and he brings some life to the film. It just isn’t enough. Go to Full Review

Typical Italian tropes (food, loudness) are mitigated by deft comic performances, especially from veteran Lanie Kazan and the grown-up Abigail Breslin. The heart of the story is a reminder that there is an expiration date on family and what they give us. Go to Full Review

Lidia T @RT41175425 2 days ago Just found out on Instagram "The Italians" film will be a play opening in Santa Monica this Feb. It reminded me how much I love this movie. The story, the acting and the love you feel is a beautiful thing! See more Shane R @Shane69 3 days ago The story line is basic, but ok. The casting and overall acting is poor. Background movie. See more Marla M @RT95526545 Oct 27, 2026 The Italians is such a fabulous film! It brought back all my memories of our Sunday marathon dinners at my Nonna's house. The laughs, the fights, the food, mainly the love. This movie has so much laughter but in the end, it tugs on your heartstrings. See more Glenda L @RT40096198 Jun 24, 2026 Terrible overacting by the mother, could have been funny with another actor. See more Anna S @RT97847452 Jun 5, 2026 Highly recommend watching with friends and family! It was as equally touching, as it was funny. The characters are colorful and entertaining, but remain authentic. If you’re looking for a lighthearted comedy, which we all need these days, this is it :) See more Joyce H @Tuffetmarie Apr 15, 2026 The Italians is a beautiful family movie that wil tug at your heartstrings one moment, make you laugh hysterically the next, and ultimately, make you want to reach out to all your loved ones to tell them how much they mean to you. It's the kind of movie that you keep pondering about for the next couple of weeks as the characters are so richly developed, they feel like family. A must see! I suggest watching it with your family, it will bring you closer! See more Read all reviews
