The first film’s narrative was intrinsically tied with building things and creativity, ideas heavily associated with Lego. This just feels like a generic kids movie adventure that would work with or without the Legos.

Nice to look at, but the spark is gone The Lego Movie 2 still looks good and keeps that playful Lego texture, but the central "kids are just playing" framing device feels worn this time. The sequel is fighting the novelty the first film already used so well, and while the story is okay, it introduces a lot of elements that never feel fully utilized. Nothing is disastrously wrong, it is just rarely more than fine. A decent, watchable sequel that lacks the freshness and payoff that made the original feel special.

I love this movie especially the songs and how the sisters toys were misunderstood and how everything is revolved in real life as well like the first one and I love how at the end everything is all happy it's a catchy movie and song hehe
