Young Clara needs a magical, one-of-a-kind key to unlock a box that contains a priceless gift. A golden thread leads her to the coveted key, but it soon disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. In that world, she meets a soldier named Phillip, a group of mice and the regents who preside over three realms. Clara and Phillip must now enter a fourth realm to retrieve the key and restore harmony to the unstable land.

Despite Mackenzie Foy's decent performance, the Nutcracker and the Four Realms did not provide anything magical nor exciting. In addition, this may also be Keira Knightley's worst performance to date.

I watched it when it was in theaters in 2018 and hated it. Back then I would have given it 1 star. I recently watched it again and enjoyed it a bit more. It does lack the classic nutcracker feel and you get lost in the lower quality acting by Kiera knightly. I will say the scenery and details in the set were very pretty.

Painful. - The acting was laughable and... *turns away, turns back, face serious*... DRAMATIC! (Ugh) -The story riddled with holes, e.g tin men who have been given life by a machine, then dying because the person who moved the lever has turned to a toy. Uhuh. - Painfully predictable. - Character motivations misplaced and misfortunate. E.g one person told us another person is trying to take over. Is there proof? Should we ask the second person if it's true? Nope. BANISH THEM! Oh wait it was a lie. Good God. But the designs of the world and characters are very fantastically fantastical. And very impressive ballet. - Also that final Morgan Freeman quote supposedly from the dead mother: Her greatest creation... Was you! .. I mean she has another sister and a brother but gee thanks Mum. AVOID!
