Critics Consensus

The Red Sea Diving Resort makes uninspired use of actual events, using thinly written characters to tell a story derailed by its own good intentions.

A large part of the problem is the casting of Chris Evans as the leader of the Israeli spy ring that set up the hotel. He is most known for playing Captain America and seems not to have put aside his shield for this film.

The Red Sea Diving Resort is staggering in its utter lack of self-awareness, a movie attempting (and failing) to be very righteous in its discussion of refugee rights and displaced peoples.

The focus turns the film into a quintessential white savior movie, making every person of color a prop to be saved rather than a developed character.

Raff saw an opportunity with this tale, took it, and didn't bother to do it justice. That's pretty much all there is to say.

Even though it's an action film, it errs on the side of having an academic style. [Full Review in Spanish]

A movie describing as closely as possible the return of Ethiopian Jews to Israel as seen mainly through the eyes of those directly involved in the operation. Bravery of those on the field difficult to imagine. A part of history that needed to be told. The actors in my opinion did a great job and the movie has its crescendo as real events developed. Most probably the reality was much more complex. Essential movie for all those interested in the history of Jewish Alyiah and the Middle East conflicts.

I really enjoyed this movie, everyone in the cast was great. Beautiful scenes and the story is full of action and drama. Loved the soundtrack and the ending with the real pics and videos of the refugees and agents that helped is was a nice touch.

I really loved this movie. It made me realize why Israel should exist. Not sure why it has such little stars. Hopefully it’s not the antisemitic folk.
