Critics Consensus

An animated feature that's more of the same, Son of Bigfoot lacks innovation but provides entertaining fodder for younger viewers.

More or less does what it sets out to do, which is to offer enough visual activity and bromides to keep the very young interested. Go to Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times May 2, 2018
Doesn't feature quite the budget, visuals or imagination of its American blockbuster counterparts, but it will likely provide a fun 90-minute diversion for kids. Go to Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) Nov 3, 2017

Suffers from indifferent animation and terrible music. But its characters and script are engaging enough to make the never-ending cinematic hunt for Sasquatch worthwhile. Go to Full Review Tara McNamara Common Sense Media May 4, 2018

Brevin W @BrevinWhitcomb Oct 10, 2026 It was an okay movie, but it’s weird how Adam somehow got the Bigfoot traits his dad got even though Adam was born before the accident and it’s never explained. Biggest mystery in the movie. Despite competent visuals and a good initial pace, it lacks the charm and intelligence of big productions to captivate a general audience. Ultimately, it's just mediocre, forgettable entertainment, largely aimed at young children.
