What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Wolf of Snow Hollow treads somewhat unsteadily between horror and comedy, but writer-director-star Jim Cummings' unique sensibilities make for an oddly haunting hybrid.

It's the personal demons rather than old-fashioned monsters that get you - one of [the] central tenets of Cummings' genre exercise/portrait of a screw-up mash-up. Go to Full Review

"The Wolf of Snow Hollow" is a pleasingly quirky outing that has fun with the mythologies of both monsters and men. Go to Full Review

Cummings is so whip-smart in sustaining his manic energy with a layer of genuine pathos, that the effect transcends one-note cliche. Go to Full Review

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a very relatable and well-made movie that just happens to feature some very tense moments. It’s more fun than I bargained for, and the twist is quite good once you put together what it all means for all the characters involved. Go to Full Review

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is another fantastic film from Jim Cummings. Its quirky sense of humor, surprisingly deep family dynamics, mixed with the murder mystery story make for an entertaining and unpredictable horror-comedy. Go to Full Review

Snow Hollow is willing to name things like “toxic masculinity” and “anger issues” explicitly, but deft and subtle enough to show these abstractions emerging from and intersecting with the werewolf plot naturally. Go to Full Review

Lindsay M @MovieBeauty101 15h Waste of your time movie! It’s slow and stupid. I’d watch it one time but it’s dumb. See more Christopher T @cgtravers 18h A 64% viewer score is ludicrous. I just finished the film, and Jim Cummings' directing, writing, and acting deserve far higher marks than that. Jim is a revelation here. He is required to play a man on edge throughout the entire film, fighting several problems, chief among them being alcohol and anger - and a wolf. This struggle results in a very funny, tense, fraught performance that Jim sustains remarkably well throughout. Riki Lindhome has that thing that most actors in this town want, i.e., the camera simply has to be pointed at her as she exudes the stuff that keeps us watching. Riki is the real deal here and O, so talented. We welcome her every performance. The camera loves Riki as much as the camera loves Jim, and their charisma could be bottled and sold. I suppose it already has been - in this film. Jim's writing and direction elevate the film; all of the performances are believable and well-considered. 64%? Give me a break! Give it a shot, I predict you will love it as we did. See more Francesco M @RT60421769 Jan 19 The story in itself isn't even that bad,.but Jesus, the acting is horrible. The main character is one of the worst performances I have seen in long time and dialogues too. See more Hugo S @Hugo_Shudder Dec 26 The inhabitants of a small mountain town are terrified by a murderer whose killings reveal an inhuman brutality. The horrifying events often occur on nights of a full moon. Struggling with alcohol addiction, the town's sheriff puts immense pressure on his team to catch the killer and preserve the reputation of the town as a holiday resort. "The Wolf of Snow Hollow" follows a character haunted by his inner demons while running against the clock to hunt down a monstrous assassin. While the movie tackles toxic masculinity and anger issues with some humorous moments, it does not fully deliver on the blend of the genres it incorporates – horror and comedy. See more Charlie W @Woodchat91 Dec 15 Absolutely the worst movie I have seen in a long while. Written for/by and starring an actor who enjoys their own voice more than putting the time into making a coherent narrative. Please don't waste your time :) See more Adam B. @waykokid Dec 14 Terrible, terrible acting. Watched 15 minutes and gave up See more Read all reviews
