This lean, mean, R-rated action machine is better than you'd think since Momoa and Bautista take the time, between fights and jokes, to examine the bruised places in the hearts of these half brothers. You feel for them, and that makes all the difference.

Rating: 7.1/10 ⭐️ I expected a mindless beat-‘em-up, but the focus on estranged brothers finding their way back to each other gave it surprising heart. What Worked: Bautista and Momoa carry the film with super natural banter. Flannery’s Hawaii shoots give the action a vibrant energy over muddy CGI. Through my Methodist faith lens, I loved the message of grace. Watching two hurt brothers let go of grudges for reconciliation hits all the right moral notes. The Cuts: Since the brothers split up early on, the middle part really dragged for me. The villains are super cookie-cutter—greedy developers and corrupt politicians is a tired storyline. Also, the tonal shifts gave me whiplash, bouncing from goofy banter to heavy violence that felt a bit excessive. Verdict: A fun action flick with a solid message about family healing. Skip if you want an unpredictable plot. Favorite Line: “We finish this together.”

A fun mix of action & comedy. It has a lot of over-the-top action moments, so don't expect this to be realistic. It's crazy action with some fun one-liners. I love the combo of Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. I would absolutely watch if they make anything together again in the future.
