BRizz 2 @TheMovieSearch Jul 27 They’re Inside is marketed in a way that makes you think you’re about to watch something in the vein of The Strangers—a tense, home-invasion horror with unsettling killers. And I’m fine with that because, despite the terrible reboot, the original Strangers films were pretty solid and knew how to create genuine dread. Unfortunately, They’re Inside falls far, far short of that expectation. The director chose a documentary-style approach, blending “found footage” elements with the standard narrative, but it just doesn’t work. Instead of feeling like a gripping horror movie, it comes off like a half-baked documentary project that got hijacked by a horror concept. It’s an interesting idea on paper, but the execution is all over the place—and not in a good way. The acting is flat and unconvincing across the board, and the characters are hard to connect with. Right from the opening scene, the lead actress delivers a lifeless performance, and then—without any build-up or context—there’s an extended scene of her in her underwear. It feels cheap, unnecessary, and completely out of place, pulling you out of the story before it even begins. The script itself is the biggest culprit here—it’s poorly written, meandering, and fails to create any real tension. What should’ve been a terrifying, claustrophobic scenario feels more like a dull student film trying to be edgy but never quite landing. Overall, They’re Inside is a missed opportunity. It had the bones of a good horror concept but no real meat on them. I can’t recommend this one at all—it’s awkward, disjointed, and ultimately a waste of time. Apparently, one of the sister's was good, one bad, but i really don't know which was which and I've not been this confused since I watched Inception. They make the worst decisions possibly made. There's one part were one of the dudes is naked and you just get 3 straight minutes of dangling cock. NO REASON WHY OR WHAT HE WENT THROUGH IN LIKE 12 HOURS TO BREAK HIM DOWN LIKE SO. the fucking murderer is a skinny armed twig, like I'm not a big guy myself but if he came at me with an ax I wouldn't be afraid.
