Critics Consensus

Treading water between gnarly kills, Thrash dishes some old-fashioned jolts but would've had more bite if its human characters were more compelling chum.

More shallow than The Shallows, and lacking the depth of even Deep Blue Sea, this has chuckle-worthy moments but will be forgotten roughly 47 metres down in the lower-echelons of shark cinema. Go to Full Review

Nothing in Thrash is going to wow Steven Spielberg, and its adherence to plot logic is elastic to say the least. But as bloody, dumb shark thrillers go, it stays afloat. Go to Full Review

This is a Netflix and Chomp movie, just 80 minutes long (if you don’t count the closing credits), and the compact run time does more than keep “Thrash” from wearing out its welcome. Go to Full Review

Despite the abundance of script issues, Thrash proves to be a fun, brisk nature-run-amok film. Think Crawl with sharks. Go to Full Review

Not a good movie, but a fun movie. From terrible foster parents who just won't die to one of the most hilarious lines of dialogue we've heard in quite some time, Thrash is just so silly and dumb. Go to Full Review

HeWhoWalks B @RT84771156 1h Very entertaining. More action enjoyment than actual great story. Then again, who really watches a shark movie for purposes of an Oscar-award level story. Another good late-night watch. "Mama bear" vs. the shark was a pretty good sequence. See more Jon B @RT78166799 1d You don't watch shark movies for a great storyline and crazy plot twists. You watch them for a bit of suspense and to see some sharks doing what they do in these movies and this has both of those things. See more Ruth A. @ruthiegirl67 2d Was very entertaining and screw critics. Who cares what they really think anyway. 🍅🖕🏼 See more Dominick C. @RT01915228 3d For a shark movie this one wasn't to bad, besides jaws the rest are normally trash but I enjoyed this one, I would watch again!! See more Dennis B @TheBeaz2000 3d Someone misspelled the title by adding an "h." Obviously, the movie's name is TRASH. How can this be a major hurricane when, outside, it just looks like a gully washer? You can't carry on a conversation in a Category 5 hurricane, duh. Funniest line in the movie: "Mr. Olsen, we were just talking about you!" If you like laughing at how terrible some movies can be, this one is right up your alley. See more Drake Ernest R @Drake217 4d The movie title is like the entire movie itself TRASH The characters are bloody idiots unlike Dakoda ,and Ron at least they used some of their braincells. Some of the characters like the two boat guys and the truck guy would have survived if they just stayed in their vehicle. The only good part of this movie is when Lisa played a thousand miles and when the other main characters got dynamite. But atleast some of them survived so 3 and a half stars See more Read all reviews
