It has just about the dumbest payout I've seen, the plot is jumbled and they deliberately gaslight the audience as I guess we are supposed to suspect the protagonist is crazy. That is too bad, because one of the great disappointments here is the film has so much squandered potential - the premise is great. And, what very little dry comedy is in here is actually pretty funny. However, unlike the FAR superior Bill and Ted, they don't lean into the absurdist aspects, and instead we get a 400 year long mid life crisis... and believe me, no one wants to see that. See more Bailey B @Bailey650 Dec 30 A truly weird movie, and I appreciate that. The concept is fun, the cast is excellent, and there's lots of comically grotesque death scenes. Something about it feels slightly unfinished or like it's missing something, but it's a brief and entertaining ride with some very funny moments. It's got a fair amount to say about human behavior and the inevitability of bad decision-making, though it never goes fully morose. Not like anything I've watched recently, which earns it points. Some brilliant, whacky turns of phrase (the syphilis gags), but very very condescending in it's message in the end.
