I don’t remember it being nearly as good as it was. One thing that sticks out is the use of CGI. It’s not that it was better than today. It’s just that they were not overconfident, but appropriately confident in it. They weren’t so overconfident that they zoomed in on stuff that clearly looked bad. They knew it wasn’t great so they used it for very wide very wide shots. And in the shots you can hardly tell if you’re just watching a movie. Great work. It could be about 30 minutes shorter and the ending is a bit of downer. The tragedy within a tragedy is a bit overpowering. But Leo and Kate look terrific. The rest of the cast holds up well.
